Believe it or not counseling is my second career. I initially started in administrative work and decided that it was time to change after many years of spinning my wheels. I’ve always had a desire to be a counselor but ran from it as long as possible. After relocating several times (Chicago, California and now Texas) I’ve finally settled and focused on what I truly want to do. I started my Undergraduate degree at Texas Woman’s University and loved it so much I completed my graduate degree there as well. I completed my internships at the Children’s Advocacy Center of Collin County and another local non profit agency.

My philosophy on therapy: I believe therapy is personal and should be tailored to fit your specific needs. As a parent, I understand how it feels when your child is going through something and you don’t know what to do to help them. As a wife, I understand the struggles of marriage-especially when you and your spouse are at a crossroad in life and you can’t seem to find your way back to a happy place. As a child of a parent that has passed away, I understand what it feels like to experience deep grief and loss. At A True You Counseling PLLC, I am here to help you navigate through these different challenges that may present themselves in your life. If you’ve ever gone to counseling before and had a negative experience, rest assured that my ultimate goal is to tailor a specific plan that works for your very individualized needs. Together we can work on a solution and explore different ways of coping with life’s challenges.
