Demetra Thomas is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor (LPC-S) in the State of Louisiana, a National Certified Counselor (NCC), and a Registered Play Therapist (RPT). Demetra earned her Master of Education degree in Human Services and Counselor Education from University of New Orleans. She has worked in the mental health field for over twenty years in the state of Louisiana. She has a passion and expertise for working with children by the use of play therapy to help children prevent and or resolve psychosocial difficulties and achieve optimal growth and development. She uses mindful and holistic techniques with families and couples to identify problems and solutions in their relationships to achieve a desired and/or favorable outcome. She works with a wide range of issues, including behavioral issues, attention deficit (ADHD) disorders, depression, anger management, anxiety, other mental health disorders, unresolved emotional issues, self-esteem/self-empowerment, relationship/family concerns, individual counseling for personal and emotional growth, creating more meaning and purpose, in one’s life/living a more fulfilled life, and multiple other issues.
