Dr. Kristy Christopher-Holloway is the Founder and Director of New Vision Counseling Center, LLC. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of Georgia and a Board Certified National Certified Counselor (NCC) through the National Board of Certified Counselors (NBCC). Kristy earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology from Louisiana State University in Shreveport, Louisiana, her Master of Science degree from Georgia State University, and her Doctor of Education in Counselor Education and Supervision from Argosy University-Atlanta. She is also a Distance Credentialed Counselor (DCC) and Approved Clinical Supervisor (ACS) through the Center for Credentialing and Education (CCE).
Dr. Kristy’s experience includes working with children, adolescents, and adults providing individual, group, couples and family therapy. She has worked in settings to include private practice, in home, outpatient and residential treatment. Kristy specializes in working with those who have experienced trauma and abuse and is trained in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization) which can be used to treat troubling symptoms, such as anxiety, guilt, anger, depression, panic, abuse, self esteem and flashbacks that are the result of traumatic experiences. EMDR is also beneficial to those who have a difficult time verbally expressing themselves, identifying emotions or who want to try something different from traditional “talk therapy”. Kristy is also a Level II trained Reiki practioner and uses Reiki and energy balancing with clients as requested.
