Are you or one of your loved ones feeling sad, worried or affected by life’s challenges? Is how you’re reacting to everyday issues getting in the way of living a meaningful and fulfilling life? For the past 15 years, I have been helping children, teens and adults overcome life’s challenges and learn the skills they need so they can successfully continue to face challenges in the future. I conduct therapy in both English and Spanish and have vast experience with the Latino community.
My treatment approach draws on techniques from different therapeutic modalities (CBT, DBT and ACT) that help clients gain new skills to regulate their emotions, appropriately react to their thoughts and feelings as well as practice behaviors that are aligned with their values and goals. My areas of specialty are Depression, Anxiety, Life Transitions and Borderline Personality Disorders. As part of an intensively trained Dialectical Behavior Therapy Group practice, we offer a DBT program which includes group as well as individual therapy for those clients who may benefit from this modality.
My credentials include a masters and doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology from Carlos Albizu University as well as training in Cognitive-Behavior Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and Dialectical Behavior Therapy.
