Melissa is a graduate of Walden University, February 2014 with a Master’s of Mental Health Counseling, specialization of Forensic Counseling; University of Phoenix, April 2008, Master’s of Business Administration; Central Piedmont Community College, 1994 with a Human Services Certificate, specialization of Substance Abuse Counseling; and University of North Carolina at Charlotte, May 1993 with a Bachelor’s of Arts degree in Psychology, minor of Sociology. Melissa is a self-published author of “The Strength of Her Words” a testament of the women who have a made a difference. Melissa is Founder of Women of Strength, a non-Profit educational organization that provides women the opportunity to community freely with one another. Melissa is mother, daughter, business owner, community activist, and music enthusiast. Melissa is organizer of National Recovery Month events held annually promoting Recovery and resources available for substance use disorders and mental health disorders.
