Shani Nealy is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) with 20 years of nonprofit human resource management experience. Shani is an entrepreneur by nature and finds purpose in helping others discover solutions to issues they may not easily see for themselves. Using solution-focused therapy, narrative therapy and dialectical behavior therapy, Shani has been able to help families and couples overcome communication barriers.
Administering a human resources department, within a well-known non-profit agency, Shani understands how important it is to help people process difficult work and family-based situations. Human resources requires soft human relations skills, counseling techniques and genuine compassion.
With a deep love for animals, Shani was able to use counseling to show others how pets can assist in their therapy process by using information learned in pet assisted therapy training. She has been able to introduce the idea that animals can aid in the healing process, reduce anxiety and reduce depression. Becoming a therapist has allowed her to continue to enjoy animals as a part of her personal and professional life.
