Stefanie has worked as a mental health provider for the past 11 years; providing counseling and therapeutic treatment to children, adolescents, and adults in various settings. Stefanie has had the opportunity to develop her skills with adults with substance use issues and co-occurring disorders. She has had the be able to gain experience across a variety of settings, including inpatient substance abuse, private practice and community- based environments.
Stefanie holds a Master of Arts degree in Professional Counseling from South University and has been a Licensed Professional Counselor since September 2016. She is also a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor and Certified Substance Abuse Counselor. Stefanie received her Bachelor of Science Degree in Psychology from Virginia Tech University in 2000.
Stefanie utilizes various methods when working with clients including use of Person- Centered, Cognitive Behavioral, Motivational Interviewing and Reality Based techniques. Throughout her career she has developed a holistic approach in working with others to ensure that her clients are able to work towards complete personal development. Stefanie dedicated herself to facilitating change in her clients; including helping them to see what challenges they are facing and the various ways they can address.
Stefanie is a member of the American Counseling Association and the Virginia Counselors Association. She continues to work towards learning new skills in order to grow within the field of counseling by attending conferences and seminars focusing on treatment modalities, skills and professional growth.
