Anger

Anger is an emotion that everyone feels at times, and can be characterized by episodes of intense feelings including frustration, betrayal, invalidation, and resentfulness, to name a few. Anger can also manifest itself in several ways physically, including elevated heart rate, chest tightness, shakiness, sweating, or an overall “hot” feeling. Anger is a normal response to situations that people perceive as harmful or troubling to themselves or others.

However, some people experience anger more frequently or to a greater degree than others and may find that their anger is becoming a burden to their personal and social lives. In these cases, it may be helpful to speak to a therapist to determine the causes of anger and how to manage it in a healthy manner.
